The 2018 Wimbledon Championships marked the end of Barry Davies 52 year career as a television sports and events commentator and presenter which he began as a member of the ITV team when England won the World Cup in 1966. In the years between he has been to nine more World Cups and 19 summer and winter Olympic Games with a role in many different sports, mainly with the BBC. For 35 of those years he was a regular commentator on Match of the Day. Barry says “Having been very lucky in my life I was, from my first introduction to Regain, lost in admiration for those to whom fate has not been so kind. Their positive approach and lack of complaint is an example to us all and I am happy to play a small part in Regain’s efforts to support them.
