Join our next Information Day
We’re delighted to hold Information Days to Tetraplegics across the UK. Thanks to funding from the Community Fund, Regain will be announcing more Information days for Tetraplegics in the Autumn of 2020. Further details will be announced shortly.
Packed full of sports taster sessions, inspiring talks and forums, our Information Days aim to provide three opportunities to Tetraplegics across the UK:
1. Discover or regain your love for sport
Whether you were a pro-athlete or an average Joe before your accident, it can be extremely difficult to get back into sport as a Tetraplegic. There aren’t many opportunities for Tetraplegics to try out new sports – or old sports you loved before your injury. Our Information Days aim to change this. Each Information Day will have a variety of taster sports sessions for you to try out; including wheelchair rugby, archery, hand-cycling and table tennis.
2. Meet and make friends with other Tetraplegics
If you feel isolated in your community, you’re not alone. Through discussions with Tetraplegic men and women across the UK, so many of you share a similar story. You make a tonne of friends during your rehabilitation in a spinal unit; but then once you’ve completed it, you lose contact with them.
Once again, the biggest problem is the lack of opportunity. And that’s another issue our Information Days strive to solve. These events give you the chance to meet up with other Tetraplegics. Not only will you make friends, but you can also swap life hacks and advice with each other.
3. Help us improve our services
We’re dedicated to helping you become as independent as possible after your accident. Therefore, it’s vital we know what your ongoing needs are and how we can support you. Our Information Days aim to receive feedback from Tetraplegics directly about our current services and what we can do to help further.
Upcoming Information Days
After running our first Information Day in September 2019, with great success and a huge amount of positive feedback, we’re delighted to hold more Information Days throughout the UK in 2020. We welcome all tetraplegics to come along, make friends, try out some new sports and have fun:
Regain are grateful for the support we have received from Awards for All in funding to support this area of our work, which will enable us to support more Tetraplegics throughout the country.
