Join us for a fabulous day out on the water, in London Docklands, for Dragon Boat Racing, 23 July 2016!

Why not get a team of 8–10 friends, family and work colleagues together, to race Dragon Boats in the Docklands in London on 23 July, to help raise funds for Regain. We can accommodate one tetra per Dragon Boat, as they have had experience with similar charities, which have worked well. That role will be for shouting and/or beating a drum for encouragement to the team.

This ancient and fascinating sport requires no previous experience and caters for all ages, from eight years upwards, and for various abilities in one crew. Each race is over approximately 250 metres. The fastest team will then go through to a head to head final, qualification being based on the fastest time. Expert commentary from our in-house PA will add a great atmosphere to the event. Above all, it is exciting, motivating, social, fun and competitive!

The aim is to have 12 teams, including team captain, and each team should have a catchy name and maybe have have a team kit, or fancy dress, face paint, etc, the more outrageous the better! A full safety briefing will take place prior to the race, and instruction on how to row a Dragon Boat. A member of staff will be at the helm of each boat. Prize giving will take place after the racing. Changing rooms and shower facilities are available should anyone get wet!

Tickets will be £50 per rower and £25 per spectator, and which includes a BBQ and Disco afterwards. We hope that each person will try and raise at least a further £200 for Regain wherever possible. The event will run from 3pm–1 1 pm.

We are hoping to get good hotel rates nearby, so you can stay over and make the most of the event. This really does promise to be a fun Summer Evening occassion, which, if successful, may become an annual event. Please do book up asap, and support Regain in their fund raising for Sports Tetraplegics.
Thank you once again for your support!
